Fairfax County, VA -- Police said Oscar Ruano-Gonzalez ran a sophisticated, illegal dentistry practice.

Investigators said he had a fully operational office. They said when detectives made the arrest, Gonzalez was working on a patient with a room full of people waiting to see him.

"It's unclear whether they knew or not," said Camille Neville of the Fairfax County Police Department. "It's unclear whether they cared. Either way, they were there and he was unlicensed."

"You would see cars coming and going 24/7, just back and forth, back and forth all the time," neighbor Kaleen Cooper Cooper said.

Внимание, бонус: врачебная солидарность трудящихся. "It is extremely dangerous," said dentist Qais Musmar. "If you think of the location of your mouth and how close it is to your brain, and the possibility of infection, the possibility of tooth loss."

BALTIMORE - Nearly 8,000 Baltimore city students -- or one out of every six -- missed more than 20 days of school in 2006-2007, statistics showed. Those students have been labeled habitually truant. Educators said that they're noticing the problem as early as preschool, and according to researchers, something must be done to deal with the problem then.

The latest research, in part, destroys the myth that truancy is just a high school problem, researchers said.

Consultants said that the problems often start with parents who fail to see the importance of those early years of school.
